Lighting Basics (Starter Room)

I obtained a free 3D model of a Wall Lamp from TurboSquid. I simply imported this by dragging and dropping the .Obj file into the Unreal project view.

It came in two parts: the lamp itself and the wall piece. I simply fitted them together using the rescaling tools to move them into position, then made the wall piece a child actor of the torch. I then added a Point Light.

I attached this to the Light, which makes it a child object of the Torch. By selecting all of them at once, I could duplicate the lights multiple times to ensure they are all identical.

Once I completed setting the lights up and compiled, I ran into some errors due to the lights seeming to be too demanding on processing. My solution to this was to turn all the lights to static to speed up the rendering. I also turned the intensity of the lights down which may have helped slightly, but also gave me more of an atmosphere I was hoping for.
