Maya: Assault Rifle Muzzle

To create the muzzle, I have used a Polygon Cylinder for the shape of it. Using the rescale and move tool, I have created approximately the correct shape and size in comparison to the muzzle of the gun.

In the two above images is a before and after the image of the basic muzzle shape simply using rescaling and movement tools.

Originally, I selected the faces and extruded inwards to create the indents. However, the end of the object into the gun was causing a deformation that I could not fix. I selected the same faces and used the rescale tool inwards instead.

The one issue I found was one piece having an extra face that I could not delete. Instead, I managed to move edges and vertices and remove parts to reduce the problem.

Going inside the object and finding vertices that were not needed, and removing them helped to clear up the issue.

This is the end result I have accomplished. The inside still remains imperfect. However, from the outside, it is hardly noticeable. I am unsure whether this will cause me issues in the future, it appears the only problem is part of one face is extending to the inside of the object slightly, which leads me to believe it should not cause any major problems.
